What's a good home remedy for cleaning the carpet from my dog?
My dog just threw up a lot on my carpet and there's a stain. We don't have anything in the house right now for it so we need a solution to this fast. I once had a friend that had a huge stain on her carpet and had a home remedy to clean it up.
Rip it all out and throw it away…replace with Pergo or the plain hardwood floor if you're lucky enough to have one. You'll live five years longer and have a better quality of life. I promise you.

The best way I have found to clean up carpet stains is either soak wet with oxiclean dissolved in hot water and press a white towel on top then let set for a few hours.
Or wet the area and then pore a heaping pile of borax and let the borax lift up the mess.
Sometimes just cold water on top then place a towel on top for a while will do the job. We used to do this when I worked in a nursing home and they were dropping food on the carpet all the time.

Baking Soda and water.

Wash the stain with warm soapy water and blot thoroughly.
Then flush the area with either white vinegar or club soda and blot.
Be sure that you get the carpeting dry or you may develop a mold/mildew issue. You can use a clean paint roller to dry it or a shop vac. Turn on a box fan to get some air moving or a dehumidifier.
