Hi, I am looking for a way to clean a filthy sink, is there a simple way to do this.?
I have to clean a filthy sink that has not be cleaned in quite sometime and it has turned black over a period of time, and I have no idea how to remove the stains from it. Is there any house hold remedies or any affordable products that I can purchase that would get the job done. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Line your sink (bottom and sides) with paper towels then pour some household bleach on the paper. Leave overnight and scrub in the morning with Soft Scrub, Ajax, or a similar cleanser. Be sure to ventilate the room well because chlorine bleach gives off poisonous fumes.

plug the sink, turn on the hot water while pouring in lots of bleach. let it soak above the stain line for about an hour. this isn't the best thing for the sink finish, but if your sink turned black with filth, i don't think you'll mind.

Ajax. Go to Target and buy some, along with one of those green abrasive cleaning pads. Wear gloves and scrub away.

Good old baking soda will do the trick. Wear gloves, wet a sponge, pour plenty of baking soda all over the sink basin and scrub away at the filth until it goes away. Rinse well and dry with a rag so as to prevent future mildew/mold outbreaks. Another thing worth considering as a preventative measure is spraying a daily shower spray on your sink surfaces after every time you do dishes.

If it has been that long your are going to need a small aresenal.
Start with a bleach soak you can dillute it with some water but not much. Use gloves and careful of your clothes. Let it soack 15 minutes then drain. Rinse the sink well. Then give the whole thing a good scrubbing with comet or ajax. Rinse this well. After spritz with a vinegar base cleaner like Windex and shine with a soft cotton cloth.

Soft scrub with bleach is a good product, follow directions on bottle. Then if stains are left try CLR.

I fill my sink with hot water add a little bleach and let sit for an hour. (You don't need to do this all the time).
I clean mine with Ajax or Comet cleaner regularly, then I windex it at the end and it sparkles.

Try a strong toilet cleaner product. Let it sit for a little while. Everything will come off just fine. And it won't damage the sink.

Fill it up with hot water then pour bleach into it ( a few cups if it's that nasty) let it sit for a few hours or overnight…
