Yes some people are more susceptible than others
As you cat has been flead already you will need to do your house now because cat fleas can feed on cats as well as humans
Whatever you do DONT buy the crap from supermarkets like tescos
You need to the vets and but the proper stuff
its a little more expensive but its worth it
apply all over the rooms, especially around the sides and the corners
    hoover everyday
You should notice a difference in about a week

    FYI
Fleas can lay dormant for weeks, even months so although you house is clean now, it could be literally crawling with them
    Just another tip
i know it sounds mad but just before you hoover, jump up and down
Fleas are attracted to vibrations so if they are laying dormant this will wake them up so you can hoover them up!

Sounds like flea bites. They usually bite females and appear as itch little red bumps. Check the cat and also fleas can lay eggs so you might think about getting flea bomb and bomb the house.

Biting a big problem right now. Not much you can do to prevent them as you usually do not feel the 'bite' at the time. Stay away from ponds, lakes, rivers at early evening, and keep windows closed if you have ligts on. Insect repellent may work, but in my case, not. Aloe vera gel is good, and fenofexadine antihistamines. If infected, get some flucloxacillin (if not allergic) from GP.

Can't get close to an answer with so little info … check this list:
    What country
    What season
    What climate, hot & muggy?
What you wear … short sleaves, short pants
What do bites look like (before you scratch them!)? … bloody spot? Two small punctures? Swelling.
Any bloody spots on your sheets?
Anything else you can think of …..
It's common for insects to prefer some people to others and it's not unusual for a pest to be in one bed or one room only.
Try three things rubbed into sites:-
    Camomile lotion
    Vinegar
Bicarbonate of soda disolved in a little water
The last two will be an 'either or' thing
Also try long sleaved shirt and jeans, or insect repellant!

Almost certainly everyone is being bitten. However response to the bite depends on the level of allergy to the flea's saliva. It appears that you are the most sensitive and are having therefore the most obvious histamine response.

In terms of your own management oral anti-histamines are likely to produce the best reduction in your symptoms, Piriton is cheap and very powerful, but a little sedative.

Phase 2 is to get rid of the fleas, that can be problematical! I would perhaps try a good dousing with Frontline spray. It is more difficult to apply than the neck drops, but works better if there is a severe infestation. It now available over the counter or on line, without a vet prescription. Also spray the house with a good flea insecticide, concentrating on furniture, carpets and nooks an crannies. Also if you cat is anything like my four, and sleeps on your bed, change the bedding.

You may have to repeat the whole procedure 3 or 4 times at 5 or 6 week intervals! Good luck.

i would suggest going to the vet with the cat and getting it checked then take the girl to the doctor and get her checked and ask the doctor about it

go to the vets and get something from there also get a spray for the carpet and furniture. dont mess around trying ones from the supermarket. lavender oil puts them off and is antiseptic.

You need something to spray the cat with and something to spay the house from the vets. Use your vacuum cleaner like a fanatic. Are there several bites in one area as this is what fleas do on humans as we are not normal prey.

Could it be mosquito type insects? Use a repellent as well. to sooth the bites take a soluble aspirin and crush it up with a drop or two of water to make a paste and spread it on the bites.
